RELIGIOUS FREEDOM RESTORATION ACT, House Bill 279, PASSES 29 – 6; House Bill 3 also passes08 Mar

Thoughtful senators overwhelmingly voted for the State Religious Freedom Restoration Act on Thursday, March 7, at about 10:45 pm and it is now on the way to Governor Beshear’s desk for his signature. The final vote on the Senate floor was 29 – 6, with only Senators Clark, Harper Angel, McGarvey, Neal, Rhoads, and Stein voting against. Senators Denton, Higdon, and Kerr did not vote on the bill.

Religious freedom opponents are not going away and will ask Governor Beshear to veto the bill.

Please contact the Governor’s office on Friday or Monday and urge him to sign House Bill 279 into law as soon as possible. Ask him to protect the basic civil right to be free of unreasonable government infringement on the right to practice one’s faith in Kentucky.

You cannot directly email the Governor but click on link below (or copy and paste in the address bar in your web browser) and then write him a note urging him to sign into law House Bill 279 to protect religious liberty in Kentucky.
