On November 8, Kentucky voters will have the chance to amend the state Constitution to make it clear there is no constitutional right to abortion or to taxpayer funding for abortion in the Commonwealth. This provision will prevent judges from striking down pro-life laws passed by the Kentucky General Assembly and will ensure Kentucky voters maintain a say over the issue.
Amendment 2 reads: “To protect human life, nothing in this Constitution shall be construed to secure or protect a right to abortion or require the funding of abortion.”
In order for your vote to be counted, you must go to the end of the ballot and affirmatively vote YES on Amendment 2. Voting straight ticket does not count towards this issue.
